2014 Makeup Favourites

2014 Makeup Favourites..

Hey guys, I know i’m a bit late on the band wagon but better late then never I guess hehe. This is just a post of all of my favourite makeup bits from 2014. These products were the main ones that I had been using repeatedly throughout the year and have just all around loved and I want to share them with you.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette:

I have had this palette for over a year now and I absolutely love it the range of colours are perfect and all work very well together. The palette comes with a dual ended brush which is great for applying the shadows and blending them. There are many different looks that you can make with the palette. The colours are based around a rose gold theme which just shouts out at any girl! Who doesn’t love rose gold? My favourite colours from the palette are: Strange, Dust, Buzz and Mugshot. Please leave a comment on which ones are your favourite if you already own this palette.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara:

OMG. This mascara is amazing. I have had so many compliments on my eyelashes when wearing this mascara. It does everything you want in order to achieve the perfect eyelashes. It separates the lashes so you do not get that clumped up look. I know some people do like the look of clumped up eyelashes; but, there is certainly a right time and place for that. In my opinion I would do this for a night time look. Anyway before I go off on a tangent, the mascara also lengthens the eyelashes very well and that is the reason why mine look very long most of the time. The mascara is a lot, however it is definitely worth it.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Cashew:

This foundation is not only my favourite of the year but it is my absolute favourite. Personally, I love a thick foundation as thats when I know I am going to get the most coverage from it. My skin tone is very uneven without makeup and this foundation just matches my skin perfectly and covers up the majority of my imperfections, this means that I rarely need to use a concealer. In addition to that the foundation is very long lasting and especially with the Benefit Porefessional primer. The foundation has a thick texture which glides onto your face nicely. I don’t like to put on a lot of the foundation as I can find it being very heavy on my face. If you want a flawless face then the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation is my answer to you.

Rimmel Kate Moss in 107:

This lipstick is one of Zoella’s favourite berry shades and it is now one of mine. This lipstick has a lovely matte finish and is very affordable. The colour is just OMG I just love it. Go out there and just buy it and try it for yourself it is a must have. The berry tone suits a range of different skin shades. I being a medium skin tone find it very hard to find red which goes well with my skin tone so I tend to go towards the berry and I have a lot of different berry toned lipsticks but the one that stands out to me the most is most definitely this one.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle:

In 2014 I fell in love with highlighters I just love that shiny dewy look of a skin and this highlighter is the one which gives me the best shine/glow to my face. I love having a glowing face as this gives the impression that my skin looks very young and healthy. The reason why Mac’s Soft and Gentle is one of my favourites is because of the shine. It is very dramatic and that is what I personally love. If you do not like a dramatic highlighter then Topshop’s Glow is more for you.

Mac Lipstick in Dare You:

Any Mac lipstick is a favourite. The vanilla scent and creamy formula is just to die for ahhh. The main reason I have chosen this as one of my favourites is purely because of the colour. I wore this to my Year 11 prom and I loved it. As I said earlier it is very hard for me to find a suitable red for my skin tone and this one is perfect in my opinion.

Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder in 51:

This bronzer actually smells like chocolate and I want to eat it more than use it if i’m honest. Everything about the product is lovely from the packaging, price and the actual product it self. I don’t tend to use a bronzer all over my face as I am already medium toned I do not need to warm my skin up any more. Therefore I mainly like to use this bronzer for contouring. The product doesn’t pick up too easy on my brush but there is a reason for this as too much would look to harsh. The product blend really nicely into most foundations as well. This bronzer is very comparable to Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer.

L’Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim:

This is by far my favourite eyeliner. I was not a fan of the pen highlighters but this one really opened my eyes. The design of the pen is my favourite part, it is easy to hold and the thin tip is very precise. I have still not managed to master a perfect flick but this eyeliner has definitely helped make things easier.

Nars Blusher in Luster:

I have never really liked to use blushes until this one. It is a perfect coral/tangerine colour which sits nicely on my face. This is more than just a blusher there is a few sparkles in the product if you look closely which means it also acts as a highlighter – how brilliant! This was my first Nars product and was definitely worth the risk. The product is also very long lasting.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze:

The gel formula was what won me the most. I could literally swipe a bit onto my finger and straight onto my eyelid and it would just glide on. The colour was also great and made me look like i put in a lot of effort when I hadn’t. When I am in a rush to get ready this is usually the my go to eyeshadow as I hate not wearing eyeshadow; but as I do not simply have the time I would just swipe a bit of this on and it would still look like I had put in some effort. So if you’re in a rush and you still want to look like you’ve made an effort then get this. You won’t regret it.

Collection Lasting Perfection in Medium 3:

A lot of beauty bloggers and Youtube have raved on about this and I thought it was time to see what the fuss was about. I never used to be so bothered about concealers but now that I have tried this I will never go back. I use it practically everyday and it has a really good coverage. It really does help with brightening my under eyes and getting rid of my dark circles from a lack of sleep and to top it off it was very inexpensive to buy. Go on, go buy yourself one and see what the hype is about 😀

Real Techniques Buffing Brush:

I know this isn’t a makeup product but oh well! This brush is definitely worth talking about. The synthetic bristles of the brush are so smooth and just really help with buffing foundations and concealers into my skin so my skin doesn’t necessarily look like it has been caked in makeup but still keeps the full coverage look.
